Pencil drawing has always been my first passion. Ever since I can remember, I was doodling on something. All I needed to keep myself occupied for hours was a few sheets of paper and a pencil or two.
This project took a year and a half to finish. I worked on it an average of an hour a day, and sometimes I took a break and set it aside for a week here and there. It is on vellum, which is pretty transparent. I used an EBONY pencil to do all the shading, as you can see on the left, then I flipped the vellum over, and applied color with colored pencils. The color came through the transparent vellum, and you can see the results on the right.
This was finished in 1992 It is a heritage drawing. I love these old black and white pictures.
Another drawing completed on vellum. The shading was done with and EBONY pencil, and the color was applied on the reverse side, using colored pencils. I love this method.
